Akira Isaac, M.S.
Akira Isaac is a fifth-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Louisville. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she graduated from Howard University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Akira is currently examining the associations between preschool-aged children’s and their parents' physiological stress measured via hair cortisol concentration, and various parental factors. Parental factors of interest include parenting stress, parenting behavior, parents' racial discrimination and parental psychopathology.

Alyssa Rodriguez, A.L.B.
Alyssa Rodriguez (A.L.B, Harvard University) is a fifth-year clinical psychology graduate student in the CAM Lab. Alyssa is interested in environmental influences of childhood psychopathology development. She is particularly interested in exploring the potential influence parents’ behavior, culture, and psychopathology may have on childhood sleep, and in turn – childhood risk for psychopathology. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys exploring nature, sharing music, and excessive peace sign use.

Loie Faulkner, B.A.
Loie Faulkner (she/her) is a third-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Louisville. Originally from Ithaca, NY, Loie graduated from American University in Washington, DC before completing a postbaccalaureate training program at the National Institutes of Health. Loie is primarily interested in the intersection of anxiety and eating behavior, and is particularly interested in early childhood anxiety, stress, and mood as predictors of disordered eating.

Helena Alacha, M.A.
Helena Alacha (she/her) is a fifth-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Louisville. Originally from NYC, she graduated from Grinnell College in 2018 with a B.A. in Psychology. Following graduation, Helena attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her M.A. in Psychology: Clinical Science in May of 2020. Helena's research interests include the assessment and treatment of ADHD in children. She is particularly interested in ADHD-related impairment, such as poor academic functioning. Helena is currently on her predoctoral internship

Annie Olczyk, M.A.
Annie Olczyk is a fifth-year doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Louisville. Originally from Central New York, she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Wells College in 2016. Following graduation, she worked in public health as a research assistant and then pursued an M.A. in clinical psychology from Cleveland State University. Annie is primarily interested in the influence of emotion regulation and parental factors on child anxiety. Annie is currently on her predoctoral internship

Amy Jordan, Ph.D.
Dr. Amy Jordan (she/her) joined the CAM lab as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the Youth Eating Study in July 2024. She completed her predoctoral internship at Geisinger Medical Center and graduated with her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University. Amy’s research focuses on sociocultural influences of body image and eating behavior, such as body talk and parental body attitudes, across the lifespan. She is especially interested in how positive constructs like body appreciation may mitigate or protect against body dissatisfaction and disordered eating.

Aubrey Hoffer, Ph.D.
Dr. Aubrey Hoffer (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the CAM lab for the Youth Eating Study. She earned her Ph.D. in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. Dr. Hoffer's research focuses on understanding the cognitive processes that underlie body image development and the ways that body image impacts mental health and behaviors.

Thu Nguyen, B.S.
Thu Nguyen (she/her; B.S. Knox College) is a study coordinator for the NIH-funded Youth Eating Study. She graduated with a double major in Psychology and Educational Studies. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree, Thu worked under Dr. Sara O’Brien studying OCD, OCRDs, and transdiagnostic risk factors. She also worked with Dr. Meredith Bucher studying the dimensional assessments for maladaptive personalities. Thu is primarily interested in the development of psychopathology and eating disorders in children and adolescents, the roles of personalities, parenting, and parent psychopathology in eating behaviors, and cultural factors in diagnosis and treatment development. Thu plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. In her free time, she enjoys cooking/baking, exercising, watching movies and crafting.

Anna Jane Anderson, B.S.
Anna Jane Anderson (she/her; B.S. Trinity University) is a study coordinator for the NIH-funded Youth Eating Study. She graduated with honors from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a double major in Psychology and Religion in 2024. While at Trinity, she was a research assistant under Dr. Carolyn Becker, researching and developing manualized single-session interventions on behavioral activation, problem solving, and exposure, and investigated medical weight-stigma and its effects. She is passionate about childhood and adolescent mental health and early interventions. Anna Jane hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking her dog, and finding new brunch spots.

Oliver Kratholm
Oliver graduated from the University of Louisville in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Since 2022, he has been in the CAM lab as a research assistant and now as a study coordinator. Oliver competes as a ballroom dancer, and in his spare time, enjoys playing basketball and spending time outdoors.

Gwendoline Villanueva Mejia
Gwendoline is a sophomore Psychology major and Criminal Justice minor at UofL. She is passionate about mental health and increasing its accessibility. She plans to further develop her education in a clinical psychology graduate program. In her free time, she enjoys rewatching her favorite shows, being outdoors, and looking after her pet turtle.

Emily House
¸Emily House (she/her) is a Sophomore studying psychology at the University of Louisville. Originally from Grapevine Texas, she graduated high school in 2020 from San Ramon Valley High in Danville, California. Emily’s research interests include identifying precursors of early childhood stress/anxiety and its influence on mood regulation. Emily also has particular interests in the neural correlates and psychological/physiological effects of rumination in children and adolescents.

Khadija Awale
Khadija Awale is a third-year undergraduate student pursuing a major in Psychology, a minor in Public Health, and a certificate in Peace, Justice & Conflict Transformation. Raised here in Louisville, KY, she is a first-generation college student interested in obtaining her doctorate in Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology. As an advocate for mental health, she believes in access to care, as well as creating spaces for open conversations aimed at reducing cultural and social stigmas associated with seeking help. She plans to work with children (and adolescents) who have come from disadvantaged, underserved, underrepresented, or vulnerable communities who may be disproportionately affected by higher levels of traumas, illnesses, or other psychological difficulties.

Ellie Nelson (she/her) is a freshman studying Neuroscience at the University of Louisville. She is passionate about mental health and interested in research to better understand mental disorders. After graduation, she plans to continue her academic career in a graduate program and specialize in psychopathology and/or neurodivergence. In her free time, she enjoys long walks outdoors, watching crime TV shows, and spending time with friends.
